Local Niigata Beverages KAORI is a shop with the theme 'enjoy the scent' of drinks related to Niigata. You can taste coffee matured slowly in the snow room and 3 kinds of tea for free: green tea, black tea and roasted green tea from Murakami, which is the northern limit of tea plantation. There are also paid wine tastings, where you can try 1 or 2 glasses of (600 yen including tax) wine from Iwanohara Budoen, a well-established winery in Joetsu that has been open for more than 120 years. You can have the highest quality heritage wine too. Snacks such as cheese and salami (350 yen each including tax) are also available for tasting. They also have fragrant Matcha soft ice cream (400 yen including tax) and strawberry soft ice cream (300 yen including tax), so it is like a bar or cafe where you can stop over in the shops easily. Tea, coffee and wine are good for souvenir.
