A boat trip down the Agano River, where you can see the rich natural beauty up close, is a popular tourist activity for people of all ages.

Inspired by British traveler Isabella Bird's enthusiastic praise of the Agano River's beauty during her Meiji-era journey through Japan, the jet ferry "Isabella Bird" was launched in the spring of 2019. Now capable of navigating shallower waters, it offers an even more dynamic and enjoyable boating experience.

One of the highlights is the lively commentary from the unique boatmen. At the Aga-no-Sato roadside station, which serves as the departure and arrival point, you can find plenty of gourmet food, including the Aga Burger (available only on weekends and holidays), which uses locally produced beef and pork, as well as curry, set meals, seafood bowls, and soft serve ice cream.
