Muramatsu Park is known as the 'Flower Park' where cherry blossoms bloom in spring and autumn leaves turn red, as well as azaleas, peonies and hydrangeas. The cherry blossoms, especially of the flowers, have been selected as one of the 'Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites in Japan' and the view of Someiyoshino trees in full bloom is a superb view that you should definitely see. The large park has playground equipment such as swings and slides, so families with small children can have a comfortable time.There are stalls on weekends, and at night you can enjoy fantastic cherry blossoms liting up. You can also see pretty flowers of Yukiwariso (Hepatica), which is designated as a flower of Niigata prefecture. The best season is from the middle of March to the middle of April every year.
